Week 5 - Part 2

And here's what you missed on Two Houses...

Mysti had a nightmare that terrified her...the thought left her panicking...and she spent the day mourning, sorrowful...the nightmare was quite horrific indeed.

It weighed heavy on Mysti.
She worried the nightmare would come true.
She would risk everything to be sure it would not.

In the morning, first to wake after her, Ben attempted to settle her woes and clear her head - that she wouldn't kill, that she wouldn't fall off the edge of balance and decide for wrong over right...but Mysti told him she did not trust him enough to believe he was telling her the truth....

Mysti: I don't want to harm them...I don't want to be responsible, I've put so much effort into being the sort of person I want to be, and...I don't know, the nightmare felt all too real. *she sniffles* I just don't know if I can trust myself right now, to not...give in...to his fiery grip.

And I'm the Head of Household, too. Fun.
I get to kick someone out. Lucky me. *she shakes her head*

Grape woke up, too, with a lingering sense of sadness, of grief - but his nightmare was not of murder, or anger, or determination.
It started to seem that the second house was bound for utter sadness, and we hadn't even checked in with the other house yet!

Ben: Grapey - Grape, wait. Talk to me.
Grape: I...I...
Ben: You...you know you can talk to me, and you know I'll listen, and try my best to hear you and understand. I...I'm sorry if you've ever thought I couldn't do that for you.
Grape: Ben -

Grape: I...I can't be there for her, right now. My sister. I...I think I've...I've told you about her, Violet, my sister...the light in my life. She's the one person I've cared...cared the most about since she was born, and...and I'm here, not there.
Ben: You're...you're in her heart, always, Grapey.
Grape: Sometimes...sometimes I wish I was outside of here so I could go be with here whenever I knew she needed me.

The contestants rallied to make sure Mysti knew her nightmare was exactly that - just a nightmare.
Devra: Are you alright, Mysti?
Mysti: Are...are you? Almost...almost stepping on my heels?
Devra: Sorry, sorry...I'll put my plate in the dishwasher and go.

Over in the other house - the first house - KT! was crowned the Head of Household, beating Carlito in the final chess match.
In the privacy of the Head of Household bathroom, she celebrated her success...

KT!: Wooooo! Yayyy! I did it, I did it, I did it, hooooraaaaayyyy!
Suck it, Carlito, you lossssssttt!

A deal almost formed between Carlito and Rebecca, to keep each other safe, but a sudden reaction caused the pair to begin a heated rivalry that promised to last longer than the simple foosball match - who won the match, who knows...only the contestants themselves can say.

Tensions all around the house were rising...the nomination ceremony was close, and it was unknown who KT! would nominate coming to a crucial eviction that would dwindle numbers from final five to final four.
Tybalt: It's getting stressful.
Skye: You can say that again, Tybbs.

The nomination ceremony would alienate two of the four unsafe contestants and illuminate KT!'s standing in the house - who she preferred, who she was willing to risk. To anyone, the task of nominations is daunting, but at this stage of the game, with limited options, it proves challenging still...did KT! have her targets set in stone?

KT!: I call this nomination ceremony to order.
I have the responsibility to nominate two contestants for eviction at the end of the week.
She could nominate Tybalt, Carlito, Rebecca and/or Skye...who was she to choose?

KT!: I have nominated you, Carlito, because you are a threat to my game, especially after the previous Head of Household challenge, and you are also an intruder, so I don't really know you very well, sorry.
Carlito is the first nominee for the first house.

And joining him, competing for the safety in the game...his rival, Rebecca.
KT!: And I have nominated you, Rebecca, because I feel as though we have talked less recently, and I am worried you will pose a threat me too, going forward in this competition. It is nothing against you, Rebecca.

So, Carlito and Rebecca had been nominated in the first house, and one would be evicted come the end of the week - who would it be? Their rivalry would continue to flare, with KT! caught in the centre - it began to seem that what she hoped was her best strategy might just come back to bite her.
Or would it?
Who could tell, especially at this stage.

Carlito turned to an old friend for safety, and a plan, going forward in the game. Skye seemed to agree - they had to work together to ensure he would knock Rebecca out of the game this week.
Carlito: So, then...you know who we need to talk to?
Skye: Tybalt won't vote to keep you...so we need to secure the tie vote.

That meant talking to KT!, the Head of Household. In the event of a tie vote, she would have the deciding vote, to keep Rebecca or to keep Carlito.
To get rid of Rebecca, or to get rid of Carlito...

KT!: You think we're headed for a tie vote then? Yeah...makes sense.
So what's this, trying to get me to stay with you?
Carlito: I think, well, Skye and I think, that keeping myself will best suit your interests. Rebecca would want you gone next week, no doubt.
KT!: And you wouldn't? You'd like to keep me till the end?

Carlito and Skye hatched their plan to get KT! on their side, thus blindsiding Rebecca come the eviction night...they hoped to outweigh the advantages of keeping Rebecca around; they hoped to convince KT! in this table discussion mere days before the massive eviction, the eviction that promised a shake-up, it seemed...

Carlito: Think of it as a further safety blanket. Can you say with Tybalt you will be safe next week? Or the next?
KT!: Tybalt is my friend. Yes, I trust him.
Carlito: But do you trust Rebecca? You did nominate her -
KT!: Hmm...it's interesting, what you suggest...

But in a game of secrets and almost no privacy, nothing is truly hidden from the eyes of the other contestants after all...

Meanwhile, in the second house...
Ben named the robot vacuum Tina, and had a fascinating discussion with Tina about the upcoming nominations, eviction, the game overall...definitely, I mean I don't speak Simlish or Robot, but I'd say that's what was going on here....
Ben: Ugh...Tina, help me.

The nomination ceremony was nearing in the second house, and with less room for choice - who would be nominated, Devra, Ben or Grape? - Mysti was caught in an awkward position, forced to nominate some of the closest people in her life at the present moment. But who would that be?
And who would be evicted at the end of the week, with only one vote to be cast?

Mysti: It sucks. There, I said it. It sucks. I don't want to be nominating any of you, but I won this position, this role, so I could keep myself safe, and...and, well, one of the three of you has to go home at the end of the week...dang.
The second house, knowing now, or at least mulling over the information that there is another house, sense that the merge would likely come after this week...a crucial final week in this house, then.

Mysti decides to nominate...
Mysti: You, Devra, because...my options are limited, and you are the biggest threat to my game, moving forward, I suppose. We're...we're not as close as we could be, I wish we had more time for that.
Devra: I...I understand, Mysti.

And her second nomination...
Mysti: - And I nominate you, Ben, because...well, I won't nominate Grape, so you are my only other choice...and you almost beat me in chess, and you would have nominated me then, so...preemptive payback? Maybe?
Ben: Oh dang. Expected, I guess.
How worried do I need to be though?

With two of his friends on the chopping block, but himself safe, the vote would come down to the loveable purple boy...who would he save, and who would be going out those front doors at the end of the week?

Grape: This does suck.
Mysti: I don't enjoy it, nope. Certainly happy I'm safe, but...well...what does safety in this game cost? This far in, you just shed blood you don't want to shed. Or you knock down your biggest threats, I guess.
Ben: Yeah...dang.
Grape: This week's eviction will be rough.

Devra faced her perceived reality...
Devra: I am not stupid...unfortunately. It is myself and Ben nominated, and I know who sits there waiting to vote for one of us to be safe. Grape...we are close, yes, sure, but...I see the way he and Ben are together. He will not keep me around, no matter what...unless he plans to ruin his relationship with Ben, I suppose so. I will go home this week, then.
Terrific.

Grape and Mysti had an idea...and began planning for a night of celebration, the night before eviction. It would be to celebrate them, the final four, before it became three...

Grape: I'm thinking...maybe we have dinner, ooh, a three-course meal! Some yummy dessert, and then we sit around, trying to find fun things to do, if we run out of stories to tell, of course...
Devra: That sounds...well, it sounds quite nice, Grape.
Grape: Yeah! I think so, too.
Mysti: Wasn't this the outfit I was wearing when I killed everyone in that dream?

And so it was settled, they would have a beautiful dinner and enjoy each other's company and enjoy their last night together as the final four...of the second house, of course. The merge is yet to come.
Ben offered to make dumplings for the house, and he didn't burn the house down in the process. What a relief for the budget.

Ben: The dumplings...are ready!
Mysti: Ooooh, yummo.
Mysti changed outfit randomly, too.

And so, the final four of the second house gathered around the table to enjoy a final dinner and share stories, reminisce on the good times and the bad inside the Two Houses house, as soon it would be three, and soon they would be gone from this house for good...oh, I do hope this house is missed. It may not be much, but...it carries with it many adventures.

Devra: I just want to say thank you, to all of you. It has been a wonderful experience, being here with you, and I have made many new friends...
Grape: Thank you to you too! It was...it was wonderful to meet you, Devra, and...and Ben, and to see you again, alive...Mysti.
Ben: I...I never expected to make it this far, and...and be this happy.
Mysti: To us! To the awesome four!

But, at the end of the week, one was to go...
Devra: I just want to say...no hard feelings for whatever the result this week, and I hope Ben says the same. This is...it is a game, after all, and the decision should be that of what could best suit...enough game talk! Let's celebrate! Let's party! What a wonderful ride this has been!

Devra was determined for it not to be her...but with only one vote, it would be a struggle far more challenging than her first nomination, all the way back in Week One, opposite Marsha Marshall...

It is now eviction night, and Devra prepares herself for the possibility of her own eviction. It is Devra vs Ben, and only one will survive the night.
Who will Grape vote to keep?
Who will say goodbye? And will it be for good?

The usual spiel...the usual task set out to the voting contestants...well, I suppose, in the case of the second house, the voting contestant. Grape.
Mysti: Good luck, both of you, and...well, thank you for coming this far with us, with Grape and I.
Grape: Oh I'm not looking forward to seeing another face disappear from that wall.
Mysti: Neither...

Grape: I hate this. Two people I'm really close to, and I have to be the one to kick one of them out of the house. I feel like the weight of everything in this house is on my shoulders right now, and I...I know which shoulder I should alleviate, and which one I can bear...but it still hurts, no matter what.

I vote to evict, very unfortunately, Devra Eden, from the house.
I'm so so so so sorry, girl. You'll be truly missed, especially by me.

And with that, with a vote of 1-0, Devra was evicted from the second house.
Devra: This was expected, unfortunately.
Grape, you were not expected to choose Ben over me, I know that.
Thank you all, for this season. It has been marvellous.

Grape: This isn't the last we've seen of each other, I know it.
Devra: I would like to hope so too, Grape. It has been wonderful getting to know you...I never thought I would have a purple friend!
Grape: Hahaha...I never thought I would be friends with a princess, myself.
Devra: Be strong and win this for me, Grape.

Grape: Goodbye, Devra. Boy, it has been fun.
Devra: Goodbye, goodbye! Have fun, all of you!
I do not see this as defeat. I am merely forging a different path now.
And with that, Devra Eden left the second house behind, off to face whoever fell in the first house eviction...and who was that, exactly?

Carlito and Rebecca sit on the block, nominated by HoH KT!. Their rivalry for the week caused tensions in the house, splitting the house - Tybalt backing friend Rebecca, and Skye backing her old pal from Abnormality, Carlito. With plans and schemes in motion, the battle for safety in the first house was a sharp transition from the saddened tone of the second house, which would come to mourn its result. What is to come from the first house?

In the case of the [predicted] tie, KT! would have the power to decide which nominee - Carlito or Rebecca - would be saved, and which would be sent out those doors, evicted from the first house. Carlito and Skye heavily campaigned for the outcome of said decision to be in their favour, but did it work in their favour, or will the vote come to a tie after all?

Tybalt is up first for voting...
Tybalt: Today's vote is easy, simple, I haven't changed my mind since KT! revealed the nominations, truly. There is only one sitting on the block that I want to stay in the game, and so she shall.

I vote to evict Carlito from the house. He is an intruder, he has barely talked to me, or said anything for me to consider him trustworthy, and quite frankly...he's won before. He has that. I don't need him threatening my game.

Next to vote was Skye...

Skye: This week was...interesting. Carlito was up, which meant he wanted me to work with him to save his ass. If the situation was reversed...sure, I'd want him to help me, but...the situation wasn't reversed. He was owing me, and...I saw this as my chance. We'll be down to final four, all for themselves. I don't need him standing in my way.

I happily vote to evict Carlito from the house, because without him, this game is mine to win. Goodbye, old friend.

And with that, with a vote of 2-0, Carlito Mendez was evicted from the first house. A shattered alliance, a unanimous vote...he did not seem impressed.
Carlito: I see the strategy in this game come to light. The person I trusted is playing the game by themselves now, as they probably had been doing before I arrived here. From another house, by the way, so I'd say the merge is coming up. You thought you were close to the end. It's only just started.

Skye: It was great to see you again, Car -
Carlito: Hold your tongue, Skye.
Skye: You can't get pissy now, Carlito.
Carlito: I'm not pissy. Just disappointed you lied to me.
I would have liked to know who KT! would have sided with, then.

- Earlier in the week -
KT!: Rebecca...did you see all of that?
Rebecca: I was in here, yeah, and saw you conspiring with Carlito and Skye...I assume they were plotting to get you to save him if...no, when...when the vote goes to a tie. Ha. As if you would.
KT!: I...they raised some interesting points -
Rebecca: KT! -

KT!: But of course I'm not planning on saving him, and neither is Skye, it seems. On the surface, she is pretending she wants to keep him around, because they're working together, but...there's a reason I didn't nominate her this week.
Rebecca: Oh...I'm impressed, KT!
He won't see it coming.

And with that, Carlito is evicted from the first house, and subsequently eliminated from the game entirely...
KT!: Goodbye, Carlito! See you on the outside!
Carlito: Goodbye, housemates, and good luck, I suppose.
Using up his second chance, Carlito Mendez now returns to the halfway house, joining the other eliminated contestants.

And here he comes now...
Carlito: Knock knock...anyone home?

Carlito: Oh great, Marsha is here to greet me.
Marsha: *bopping* Oi, heeelah theeere, Caahleetah!
Carlito: G'day.
Marsha: Bahht...arghhh ewe e'enn Aaahstreelaighoon?
Carlito: Someone I know is, that's for sure.

Beau: Okay, my first move, here -
Diane: Hmm...interesting choice.
Beau: It's better than nothing, Diane. Chess can be a long game, and not always does the first move matter. It can make or break, sure, but...I think I can move anymore this game, and not worry too much.

Diane: You did get out first, correct?
Beau: Indeed -
Diane: So I could therefore say you are not very good with first moves then, huh? Is that correct?
Beau: Oh - Diane White, you've got me there.

Ted: I have decided to make brownies for the house. Dinner was...well, magnificent, of course, chef Diane prepared it, but I was finding myself still a smidge hungry, and thought...perhaps I give back to everyone, and make some brownies! They may not be perfect, it's just little old me making them, but...well I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do.

Leroy: …changing the channel...this is boring...what else is on?
The eliminated contestants are enjoying and winding down as the night flows onward, then. It will be unfortunate saying goodbye to them again when we move on from the halfway house...

Carlito: Why the - why am I still just waiting by the front door?
Uh...Marsha, where is - where is everyone else, lady?
Marsha: Ewe staaahy 'ere, inde dahnshe!
Carlito: Not in the dancing mood, I'm afraid -
Adrian: Carlito. Marsha, stop bothering him, you idiot -

Marsha: Eweish eeedaheeteh.
Carlito: Oh, good to see your face, Adrian. How are things?
Adrian: It's a damn madhouse in here. You know, I thought in there was bad, and I've only been here for like a week, but...dang, they all get so bored so easy, and with nothing on the horizon...you know, I've settled into doing some weird stuff.
Carlito: Oh no, they've broken Adrian.

Meanwhile...instead of being escorted to the Halfway House, Devra found herself in a dark corridor, illuminated only by the lights dotting the floor. It was a straight, narrow corridor, a dead end ahead...where could it possibly lead her?
And what did this mean to her game?

Devra could only continue on forward, step by step, wondering what could be around that corner just up ahead.
The second chance twist had one last surprise return...
But this time, the returning contestant would be welcomed to a new house entirely...and three faces would be familiar, another four all together unknown...

I'll see you next time, when we return, on Two Houses...
